Smith Estate, also known as Longwood Estate – Smith House, is a historic estate located at Ridge in Suffolk County, New York. It is preserved and maintained by the Town of Brookhaven. The Longwood Estate is part of a huge parcel of land originally purchased by William "Tangier" Smith in the 17th century, which he called Manor St. George. The estate consists of a large, late 18th century main house (altered and enlarged during the 19th century), caretaker's cottage, a farm complex (of barns).William "Tangier" Smith (February 2, 1655 – February 18, 1705) was a mayor of Tangier, on the coast of Morocco, and an early settler of New York who owned more than 50 miles (80 km) of Atlantic Ocean waterfront property in central Long Island in New York State, in what is called the Manor of St. George. In 1701, he was Acting Governor of New York.

Join the Smithtown Historical Society for its annual holiday season kick off event! The entire property’s open to all attendees! There’ll be live music in each of the historical houses; hot drinks and cookies in the tavern; a craft for kids in the homestead; and Saint Nicholas in the farmhouse! Bon fires, s’mores and traditional caroling will also be available! Don’t miss out on this festive event!

Haven’t been to the North Pole? Well, here’s your chance! Adventure Kids in Sayville is operating a trolley ride to Santa’s residence! Of course, there’ll be cookies and hot chocolate. Tickets required.
