If you’re eager to embrace a silent night at home (i.e. a Christmas Eve that does not include 20 of your closest friends and family members), but still need a way to celebrate and dine before the big day, Long Island is upping their holiday game. Here are some of the restaurants serving Christmas Eve dinner this year. Make your reservations now!

In Oakdale, this waterfront restaurant will offer an a la carte menu for the holiday, which will include a comprehensive menu featuring delicious classics. Surf and turf, lobster pasta, braised short ribs, and pan-roasted diver scallops are all on the menu, as are local oysters and clams on the half shell, crispy Thai calamari, and a shredded iceberg salad. And you can’t go wrong with a side of Montauk lobster-white truffle risotto.
Mirabelle Restaurant and Tavern
This Stony Brook restaurant will host Christmas Eve dinner, a prix fixe affair that costs $68 for adults and $34 for kids (three courses are included with the meal). For appetizers, standouts include a Peconic Bay scallop fricassee with a vermouth-parsley sauce, caviar, and trumpet mushrooms; and roasted foie gras with salsify tempura and a Port reduction. Entrees include a roasted prime rib with horseradish cream, a loin of lamb with fettucine and winter truffles, and butternut squash ravioli.
Bistro 72
On both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, this Riverhead restaurant will serve dinner from 3 p.m. until close. The $59 prix fixe menu—which is $22.50 for kids 12 and under—includes a choice of appetizer, entrée, and dessert. Expect such traditional dishes as beef Wellington with mashed potatoes, honey-glazed spiral cut ham with potatoes au gratin, and seafood linguine in a white wine butter sauce. The chocolate chip bread pudding, served with whipped cream and powdered sugar, truly embodies the holiday spirit.
