April showers bring . . . delicious food and drink. Let’s be honest: May is one of the best months on the Island. Flowers bloom, springtime treats like rhubarb start to make their appearance, seasonal waterfront restaurants reopen. Take some time to stop and smell the spring blossoms and then get yourself these 9 eats.

Bostwick’s is kicking off their 27th Hamptons season by opening a second location at 39 Gann Road, East Hampton. The seafood centric menu will include oysters on the half shell, garlicky mussels, lobster rolls, crab cakes and of course Bostwick’s famous seafood pasta. The official opening is planned for late May or early June.

Or really any of the pastries at this new Great Neck spot. Pair it with the Espressino Freddo (an icy creamy cappuccino) and pretend you’re in Rome.

Grilled Pineapple at Morty’s Oyster Stand 

Not that we needed an excuse to eat more lobster rolls, but Amagansett has a new spot for us to try them. Morty’s Oyster Stand will soon open at 2167 Montauk Highway in Montauk, and the restaurant—with indoor and outdoor dining—will dish up summer classics such as Morty’s Lobster Roll, Whitefish and Summer Squash Ceviche with fresh herbs and Grilled Pineapple with black sesame and coconut caramel for dessert.

A Poolside Burger at Brooklyn Chop House

Brooklyn Chop House is taking a summer vacation to the Hamptons. The NYC-based restaurant will pop up in late May at The Capri Hotel at 281 County Road 39A in Southampton. Go for lunch poolside and order the Chicken, Beef, Shrimp and Lobster Satay, the Chicken Lettuce Wraps or an 8-ounce Pat LaFrieda Double Hamburger.

We’ve been obsessed with chef Jennie Werts fried chicken ever since she started serving it at her Jennie’s at Drossos popup. This May, Werts is putting down roots and opening a permanent location, Ellen’s on Front, in Greenpoint.
