Babylon is the perfect destination for a romantic date night. This beautiful little town on Long Island’s South Shore offers several evenings worth of great food and entertainment options. The Village, as locals call it, offers an entertaining night out for every taste and budget.
Start your date night with a stroll through Babylon Village
A great way to start your evening is with a stroll through town for some post-holiday sale shopping. The village has numerous specialty shops with unique gifts and services. The decorations up and down Main Street and Deer Park Avenue bring back memories of simpler times. There is something magical about the small-town setting that offers a nostalgia that shopping online just can’t replicate.
Enjoy a Romantic Dinner at Barrique Kitchen & Wine Bar
As you walk hand in hand down the brick alleyway, you will feel as if you have been transported to a small European tapas bar. As you enter, Barrique’s rustic brick walls, timber beams and farm tables make it the perfect spot for a romantic night out. There are so many tempting choices on the menu; the small plate approach allows you to try a little of everything. The wait staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable if you are new to small plate dining. They always have great recommendations, so you don’t leave hungry. Our favorites include the veal meatballs, clams, polenta fries, and the Barrique thin crust pizza. If you prefer to have a quiet dinner be sure to arrive early before the evening crowd.

Finish Up with Dessert at the Babylon Bean Coffee House
What’s not to love about the Babylon Bean? This cozy little coffee shop is the best place to go when you aren’t quite ready for your date night to end. If you are the type of person that can drink coffee any time of day and not have it affect your bedtime – my husband has a few great recommendations for you. If you are in the mood for a latte, try the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. More of a mocha person? Go with the Snickers. Looking for something more traditional? You can’t beat the Flat White or the Café Au Lait. Hopefully you still have a little room left for dessert! Babylon Bean’s desserts are always fresh, and they have delicious treats for anyone and everyone. Gluten free? Vegan? Low calorie? Don’t worry, they’ve got you covered. The Babylon Bean is a great way to finish up a night of being wined, dined and entertained!
