The holidays are over and the weather is cruelly cold; even among year-long optimists, symptoms of seasonal affective disorder are starting to take hold. But we’re happy to report that there is a light at the end of winter’s long tunnel: Long Island Restaurant Week returns!

Starting Sunday, January 21—and running through Sunday, January 28—Long Island Restaurant Week will bring back everyone’s favorite restaurant deal of the year: $28.95 three-course prix fixe menus. All of Restaurant Week’s participating restaurants will offer unique menus—all of which include a choice of three appetizers, three entrées and three desserts—at this price point every night they are open from Sunday to Sunday (except on Saturday, when the menu is only required to be offered until 7:00 p.m.).

Take one look at the list of participating restaurants and prepare to be impressed. In Nassau County, there’s Besito in Roslyn, George Martin 1989 in Syosset, Novitá in Garden City, Thyme in Roslyn, and more. In Suffolk County, there is Casa Rustica in Smithtown, Kitchen A Bistro in St. James, RHUM in Patchogue, View in Oakdale, and—it bears repeating—so much more.

“It is expected that the campaign this spring will garner more than 150 participants,” said Steve Haweeli, President of Long Island Restaurant & Marketing Hospitality Group—the business-to-consumer promotions division of WordHampton Public Relations. “With more than 2.8 million residents and 1,000 restaurants with varied cuisines, concepts and price points, it is no wonder why we started the highly anticipated Long Island Restaurant Week.”

Long Island Restaurant Week is a gift to both restaurateurs and consumers alike during a slow time of the year for both business and out-of-the-house pleasure. Due to its popularity, the promotion keeps expanding and now luckily occurs multiple times a year.
