The Golden Pear Café Now Serving Dinner and More

The Golden Pear Café, the Hamptons favorite café, has begun serving dinner at its Southampton location, and will be serving dinner at the Bridgehampton location mid-June. Before an expansion in May, the popular eatery only served breakfast and lunch. The limited menu of “American and Mexican inspired gourmet fare,” will now be available for eat-in or take out. Menu items include a slow-roasted chicken and black bean burrito, grilled chicken quesadillas, barbecue chicken, individual three cheese and basil pizza, warm paninis; the current favorite is grilled chicken, avocado, caramelized onions with chipotle dressing on sourdough bread, blackened mahi mahi, lobster bisque and their award-winning clam chowder. The Bridgehampton store will serve craft beer and local wines.

(The Golden Pear has four cafés: Southampton, Bridgehampton, East Hampton and Sag Harbor. The East Hampton and Sag Harbor locations will continue to serve breakfast and lunch.)

“We know and love our customers,” said chef-owner Keith Davis, “and it continues to be important to me to expand our offerings to meet their ever changing needs.”

Along with dinner, the Golden Pear has expanded its catering menu to include additional vegetable and cheese platters, a seared tuna and grilled jumbo shrimp platter and a roasted and carved filet mignon platter. A variety of vegetable and pasta salads, wraps, paninis and stuffed focaccia will also be offered as well as fruit salads and a new decadent dessert: black forest, double chocolate loaf cake.

The Golden Pear also offers high-quality “beach blend” coffee which is available in bags for purchase. The coffees are named after beachy places in the Hamptons – Georgica French Roast, Coopers Hazelnut, Little Plains Caramel, and Main Beach House Roast Organic. Earlier this year, Davis also debuted a Hamptons-themed four flavor organic coffee line attractively packaged in biodegradable, single-serve k-cups. In January, The Golden Pear donated $1 from every box purchased to The American Red Cross disaster relief fund.

“The Golden Pear Café is known for serving the finest coffees over the past twenty-nine years,” states Davis. “We wanted to offer our customers the same quality product to enjoy at home away from the Hamptons or at the office.”

The new K-cup line can be purchased online or at Amazon. They can also be included in The Golden Pear signature and seasonally-themed gift baskets, which consists of jams, breakfast mixes, loaf cakes and other items.

Coffee is not the only beverage you can get at the Golden Pear.  Davis has created what he calls, Keith’s Nervous Breakdown Margarita Mix. What’s up with the name? Davis says: “When life gives you limes, make margaritas. Celebrate the ups and downs in life. Have a ‘Nervous Breakdown!’” Some restaurants and bars in the Hamptons are also offering Davis’ concoction.
