Coming This November: Beer & A Bite is Back and Hotter Than Ever at Del Fuego

BeerBite Nov 2015_event page

What’s better than eating? Eating and drinking beer simultaneously! Enjoy both at Beer & a Bite on Thursday, November 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Del Fuego in Babylon.

Presented by us here at Edible Long Island and our friends over at Brooklyn Brewery, Beer & a Bite will be the perfect event to liven up an otherwise typical autumn Thursday. Join us to snag a special (and sure-to-be delicious) pairing straight from the Del Fuego kitchen, and grab a glass of one of the first-ever kegs of Insulated Lager.

For just $8, you can enjoy a pulled pork taco with a glass of Brooklyn Lager. $10 will get you brisket wontons and a glass of Brooklyn Insulated. We’re getting hungry and thirsty just thinking about it.

Want a little more to whet your appetite? Let’s take a look at the beers (since the bites are self-explanatory). Brooklyn Insulated Lager is your protection against biting wind and soggy weather. German Munich, roasted carafa, and pilsner malts create a nimble, racy body, while a helping of American black barley adds just a hint of roast coffee.

Brooklyn Lager, on the other hand, is amber-gold and displays a firm malt center supported by a refreshing bitterness and floral hop aroma. Caramel malts show in the finish. The aromatic qualities of the beer are enhanced by “dry-hopping,” the centuries-old practice of steeping the beer with fresh hops as it undergoes a long, cold maturation. The result is a wonderfully flavorful beer, smooth, refreshing and very versatile with food.

So, what do you say? Sold? Us too. We’ll see you in November.

Beer & A Bite is coming to Del Fuego in Babylon—located at 117 Deer Park Avenue—on Thursday, November 12 from 7-9 p.m.
