Downtown Patchogue keeps getting better and better and busier and busier. One Wednesday at the tail end of summer, Edible and Brooklyn Brewery held a Beer and a Bite at That Meetball Place, a cavernous mecca for meatballs served anyway you like. The brewery was on hand to debut two new beers: Blast, a double IPA that served as the best foil for the Spicy Balls of Fire Slider and an Oktoberfest, which was paired with a classic slider; tasters could try either combo for a special price of $10.
For the uninitiated, That Meetball Place allows diners to put together a meatball meal from a wide ranging menu. Choose the kind of ball you like — classic, seafood, chicken, veg, spicy — choose how many you want and whether it’s going to be a sandwich or a platter. You’re not yet done! Next pick out a sauce. The tzatziki goes well with the spicy balls, or get the marinara, mushroom cream, pesto or pancetta cream. Or get no sauce at all.
See you next time!
