Winter-weary and suffering from a bit of seasonal affective disorder, I am almost giddy that spring is once and for all upon us. Officially, this weekend is the last weekend of winter and what better way to bid adieu to the winter of our discontent than to head out east for Winterfest – Live on the Vine.
Like the preceding weeks, week four is chockablock full of something for everyone: folk, soul, rock, bluegrass, singer/songwriter and jazz — lots of jazz. One of this weekend’s standout events is jazz fusion guitarist and pianist Stanley Jordan, performing on Saturday at Raphael Winery in Peconic at 4 p.m. Other jazz performances this weekend include bossa nova jazz guitarist Jesse Barnes at the Hotel Indigo on Saturday at 7 p.m., jazz saxophonist Elan Trotman at Raphael Winery on Sunday at 1 p.m. and the Steve Adelson Duo at Sparkling Pointe on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
