One look at this weekend’s weather forecast tells us that we might very well be able to finally put away our shovels and heavy overcoats. The sun is shining and the temperatures are expected to surpass the freezing mark. Welcome this hint of spring out east at Winterfest – Live on the Vine.
Much like this near springlike weather, week three, of this six-week celebration of live music and wine, will leave you yearning for more (good thing as there are still three more weeks to go). There are 14 different events scheduled for Saturday and 7 events on Sunday; if only there were more hours in a weekend! I am a fan of singer/songwriters so my pick for Saturday would be Robert Bruey, a fingerstyle guitarist performing at Jason’s Vineyard in Jamesport at 1:30pm. If I don’t dawdle, I can then catch Fred Raimondo and Caroline Doctorow at Coffee Pot Cellars from 4-6pm. Rounding out Saturday is another singer/songwriter, Center Moriches’ Jeff LeBlanc performing at the Hotel Indigo in Riverhead (I am considering spending the night here) at 7pm. On Sunday, I am leaning towards checking out Port Jefferson’s Denice Given and Conrad Taylor at Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard at 2pm or maybe George Tebbitt at A Lure in Southold at 5pm…or maybe both!
