Miles to Dayton performing last summer at Restoration Farm in Old Bethpage.
Kick off the last day of February (buh bye frigorific February) at 1 p.m. with a non-musical, but very informative Q & A with winemaker Jim Waters of Waters Crest Winery and grower Anthony Sannino of Sannino Bella Vita Vineyard in a round table discussion at Waters Crest Winery in Cutchogue. Once you are well-schooled in local winemaking, hit up some of the dozen other doings on this second weekend of Winterfest – Live on the Vine. Betsy’s picks: local fave Miles to Dayton at Duck Walk Vineyard in Southold at 4 p.m. followed by a quick dash over to Restaurant A Lure in Southold to catch blues, jazz and rock guitarist Rob Europe at 6 p.m. (He will play until 9 p.m., so you will be able to catch your breath while enjoying a stellar meal.)
March comes in like a lion with seven events, all in the afternoon. I am going to liven up the beginning of a new month (and the promise of spring) with Fuerza Flamenca Duo at 3:30 p.m. while enjoying a glass local bubbly at Sparkling Pointe in Southold.
Take it easy during the work week; next weekend is chockablock full of local wine and entertainment.
