One of our most favorite things to love about February is the kickoff of Winterfest – Live on the Vine. A collaboration among East End ArtCouncil, the Long Island Wine Council and the Long Island Convention and Visitors Bureau, this celebration of music, performing arts, wine and our East End is in its eighth year. Beginning tonight and running until the end of March there is no longer a reason to stay cooped up until spring. Winterfest offers a wide range of music (jazz, blues, soul, pop, Americana roots, R&B, rock, singer-songwriter and more) performed by more than 70 performers at 25 different venues over the course of the six-week festival.
Tonight’s Kick-Off Party will be held at Riverhead’s restored Suffolk Theater beginning at 6:30 p.m. The four-set lineup includes guitarist Randy Jackson of the band Zebra, local fave the Kerry Kearney Band, Jack Licitra and his band Jack’s Waterfall and indie-folk band Pandafan. There will also be a late-night, fifth-set jam featuring all of the headliners. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
