It’s All About Your Chakras

 

Feeling a bit out of sorts? Sluggish? Depressed? It might just be that your chakras are out of alignment. Hindu belief says our bodies contain chakras, or energy centers, that control the flow of energy through our bodies. There are seven main chakras, starting at the base of our spines and running  through to the top of our heads. Each chakra (root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye and crown) helps the flow of energy through its nearby organs. Sometimes food, toxic environments or stress can cause these chakras to spin out of whack. Life happens, but it is important to take some time for yourself and get those chakras back in balance once again … or for the first time!

On Saturday, February 7, from noon to 4 p.m., Harbor Lights Yoga in Huntington is presenting an afternoon designed to help you reboot, re-energize and pump up your emotional, physical and spiritual energy. News12 Long Island’s Mary Mucci, host of Long Island Naturally, will talk about living a more natural and healthier lifestyle. Harbor Lights Yoga instructor Ellen Cleary will explore the seven chakras through discussion and yoga and holistic health counselor Kathy Galan will tap into those chakras, balancing them through gentle, non-invasive techniques and meditation.
