Chef, restaurateur and Top Chef participant Fabio Viviani recently appeared at the Book Revue in Huntington sporting his charming personality and his new cookbook, Fabio’s American Home Kitchen. Featuring more than 125 easy-to-make recipes for the home cook, this beautifully illustrated cookbook is a go-to guide for simple weeknight meals, holidays and family get-togethers.
Fabio’s grilled asparagus with burrata and almond salsa looks to die for, and you can’t go wrong with his deliciously simple tomato tart which features store-bought puff pastry sheets, fresh tomatoes, garlic, thyme, rosemary, basil and parmesan cheese.
Born and raised in Tuscany, Italy, the chef makes create American recipes with an Italian twist, like Fabio’s chunky sausage and clam chowder, or his balsamic Kansas-style ribs. Also included in this wonderful cookbook, are breakfast recipes and menu ideas for all occasions.
When Fabio wasn’t talking food, he spoke about his childhood and going to work at age eleven, and he couldn’t say enough about his little Pekinese dog who he cooks for every night.
Fabio’s American Home Kitchen sells for $30.
