On Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Greenlawn-Centerport Historical Association will be hosting the 35th Annual Pickle Festival at the historic John Gardiner Farmhouse at 900 Park Avenue in Huntington. The event will feature 100 barrels of hand held pickles plus specialty pickles for tasting. A variety of produce, baked goods, jarred goods, roasted corn, hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn and drinks will also be available for purchase. Fun for the whole family includes a corn maze, hay rides, potato digging demo, antiques, antique cars and trucks, a pickle industry display and train rides. Souvenirs you can purchase includes T-shirts, pickle ornaments and pickle pins. Get there early to avoid the crowds. This is the historical association’s biggest event. There is a requested donation of $5.00 per person to enter the event, children under twelve are free. For more information, visit greenlawncenterporthistorical.org.
