Gnarly or Nice? Bloody Marys With a Spicy Twist

J&D’s (the guys behind bacon salt and bacon lip balm) have created sriracha-flavored candy canes just in time for the ho-ho holidays. While the spicy Asian condiment may not make the most kid-friendly treat, adult fans of fiery foods love it and will be blown away by this sweet/spicy pairing. Especially if there’s alcohol involved, which we highly recommend: Use the canes as stirrers for your holiday cocktails! Try them in a Bloody Mary (recipe below courtesy of Edible contributor Meredith Shanley) for your Christmas brunch and see how your guests react.

5 oz tomato juice
5 oz V8 Original
1.5 oz vodka
Juice of 1/4 lemon
1 tsp horseradish
2 dashes Frank’s Original Hot Sauce
2 dashes Worchestershire sauce
fresh cracked black pepper to taste
1/8 tsp Old Bay seasoning
1/8 tsp ground celery seed
To garnish: lemon wedge, lime wedge, green olives and celery stalk

Combine all ingredients (excluding garnishes) in a large cocktail shaker with plenty of ice. Shake; pour over ice into a pint glass. Add garnishes to the glass and serve cold.
