We are throwing ourselves a party! The first print issue of Edible Long Island has arrived and we couldn’t be happier, or more gratified. In fact, we are so happy we are having a launch party. Join us on Wednesday, November 6, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Jewel Restaurant in Melville and help us bask in the moment. Learn more and snag your ticket here.
Wondering what tasty local eats and drinks a magazine called Edible will serve? Well, wonder no more as we have lined up some of our area’s best chefs, brewers, winemakers and food artisans to tempt your taste buds and tickle your palate. Vendors (to date) include; Jewel (our host restaurant for the evening), Roots Bistro Gourmand (West Islip), West East All Natural Bistro (Hicksville), Besito (Huntington and Roslyn), Lombardi’s Market (Holbrook), Frosae (refreshingly delicious sorbet made from Long Island wines) and Whole Foods Markets (locations in Jericho, Manhasset and Lake Grove). Thirsty, too? No problem, 20 Long Island wineries and five Long Island breweries are lined up to appease your thirst.
If celebrating, eating and drinking with your local food community isn’t enough of an incentive to join us, the first 100 ticket buyers will also get a one-year subscription to Edible Long Island magazine included in the early bird price of only $20 per ticket.
Edible Long Island is proud to be following in the footsteps of our older and wiser siblings: Edibles East End, Brooklyn and Manhattan, and sharing a commitment to the simple celebration of local food. That being said, we have planned this not-so-simple celebration of our launch issue and, like a typical kid sister, we have been observing our older siblings, taking notes and we now know exactly how to throw a good party (Edible events are the best). Our homework is done, our first issue is a wrap and we are ready to have a party, even on a school night! Meet us to celebrate our local food scene.
